He requires warlords like Prigozhin and Kadyrov for his campaigns, bureaucrats like Lavrov, TV propagandists like Solovyov, and, of course, the oligarchs\u2014the men with big money. Putin\u2019s system is built on a total vertical power structure\u2014everything converges on the strong man in Moscow.
\nBut with the invasion of Ukraine, the first cracks in Putin\u2019s seemingly all-encompassing power are beginning to show. How stable is his rule? Who does Russia\u2019s President rely on? One thing is clear: anyone who stands in his way now lives in even greater danger. Putin\u2019s system is at a turning point\u2014there\u2019s no way back. It\u2019s either victory or ruin.
